The residents of a house built in 2001 wanted to transform it into an even more comfortable, contemporary, and age-friendly home. By adding a small extension to the side facade, a spacious open living area can be created. An extension at the rear of the garage allows for a spacious bedroom and bathroom. Some existing window openings are enlarged to improve the view and increase natural light.
The house is enveloped in a thick insulation package and covered with white exterior stucco. In combination with the wooden exterior cladding, the house gains a playful, contemporary character.Throughout the entire design and detailing process, 3D software and virtual reality are used. By being able to walk through the design with a virtual reality headset, the clients gain a clear understanding of the designs, making decision-making easier.
