The location is truly exceptional. The stunning surroundings can change in atmosphere depending on the weather, time of day, or season. Maximizing the experience of the environment from within the house was a key focus of the project.
The design consists of two connected volumes with black facades and a large tiled roof. The main functions of the house are housed in the larger volume, while the lower section, with a gently sloping green roof, accommodates the workspace and gym.
The black wooden cladding is applied in a pattern with varying widths, adding a subtle extra "layer" to the façade. The dark sliding shutters, also made of black wooden slats, provide the desired shade on sunny days and keep the free-roaming chickens out.
Each direction offers a slightly different view—an expansive view of the polder from the kitchen and a closer view of a meadow from the seating area. The dining table is positioned between these two, enjoying both views.
The 3D model also included the structure, along with all installation channels and defining details. Any potential "clashes" between these components were instantly apparent and could be resolved during the development phase.
